Woodworking
The woodworking information has been moved to its own page.
Music
I've loved classical music ever since discovering it in 1984. Prior to that I was pretty clueless about music in general. If I am in the right mood then I may enjoy other forms of music. I find a lot of the stuff that gets classified as "Celtic" pretty enjoyable.
In junior high school I learned to play the trumpet, but my teeth weren't straight enough to support that and when marching band became the only option for participation then I quit.
In 1996 I started to learn to play classical guitar. I spent a few years in it, even branching out into the electric and bass. But now I am not doing much. I have too little time to give it the attention it deserves.
We also try to attend the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and the Colorado Ballet as much as possible, although that's been curtailed now that we have our young
daughters.
Heraldry
I also like to learn about and play with heraldry, the study of coats of arms. I am a member of the American College of Heraldry , and through them I have arms that I
designed and registered in the name of my father. Hand-in-hand with this goes a general interest in medieval history, castles, cathedrals and such. Jennifer and I both share a dream of someday visiting England, Wales and Scotland, hopefully taking a full month to do
so!
Cooking
There's nothing like a few years of bachelor life to hone your cooking skills. I'll throw in a few recipes that I've had good luck with, French Cream of Pea Soup , White Bread , Pancakes
, Skillet Macaroni, Double Chocolate Chip Cookies and Olive Garden-style Bread Sticks.
Ceramics
My wife decided to try her hand at pottery. Along the way she needed some help, so I jumped in to learn in order to help her with projects. Only two projects so far, as you can see below. However, I have found this to be a lot of fun and I'm full of ideas about new projects to try!
