Treating children with respect is built into our philosophy right from the start. All children deserve the same chance - to push and pull and paint… to design and think and imagine… to run and move and shake. All so they can become active, involved, creative, conscientious adults.

That's where we enter the picture. We're here to make a difference - through books and toys that inspire so kids aspire to their dreams. From dancers and poets… painters and teachers… chefs and C.E.O.'s and who knows? What we give a child today… she gives back one hundred-fold tomorrow. What he reads today, he will remember when he's 35.

Who am I? Who is she? Where do I fit in? Where is Mozambique? Why am I unique? All without computers or computer games or T.V. or technological advances that sometimes set our kids back a step or two when it comes to using their minds. We're here to get kids thinking, actively, not passively.

In short, "child's work" is really "child's play" and vice versa. And Children's Mercantile is the place to come for all the necessary "tools" and "toys." If children learn to work their minds today, they'll play a bigger role in the future of our world tomorrow.
