The Work of Jim Vogel

James Vogel was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and only recently moved to Northern Colorado. He is married to his wonderful wife Elena, and they have a very intelligent Cockatoo named Keylee. He does metal detecting as a hobby, and is interested in learning about rockhounding. He first became interested in silversmithing in high school when he took a jewelry class. Back then he did it for a year or so, and only recently has he been bitten by the silversmithing bug again. He now enjoys making unique pieces, and has found it extremely gratifying when someone tells him how much they like a certain piece, or when they say how interesting it is. His favorite stone is Fire Agate. Some of the things he enjoys about Don's classes are: learning new ways to do things, how informative the classes are, and listening to Don's stories.
