The Work of Marc Sendek

Marc Sendek is a native of Wisconsin, but he grew up in Northern Michigan. This is an area rich with copper and iron ore mining history. He lived about 18 miles from Lake Superior and spent many hours looking for agates and other interesting stones. His wife's name is Wanda, and they have two dogs: Abby, a black lab-chow mix; and Kona, a tan, furry thing. They also have a Cockatiel named Jake. He has always liked working with his hands, and when he noticed Don's ad in a local newspaper, he decided it would be fun to see how different jewelry is made. He has now been silversmithing for several months, and his favorite part about doing it is melting the project he has been working on for a long time into a great big glob of molten silver--just kidding! He finds it satisfying to take the raw materials like silver sheet and silver wire, and watch it turn into a ring or a pendant. His favorite stone is either Turquoise or Malachite. One of the things he likes about Don's Classes is his approach to teaching. Don is really informative with jokes and stories mixed in to make it a really laid-back learning experience. Here are some examples of Marc's Work. Many of these are sold, but similar pieces can be custom made. Please contact him at FastFish@aol.com to order a piece in a given style.
