Carnivorous Plant

"It had a mouth like that of a great beast, and gnashed its teeth as it strained to reach us. I am thankful that it possessed no means of locomotion." -Vervamon the Elder*

Description

The carnivorous plant is not a single monster but a plant covering a small area. Each square that the plant occupies needs to be marked so that all players can identify the location of the plant. I use green gemstones but pieces of paper can be used. Each square should be considered as a separate creature. If a warrior causes 12 points of damage to the plant he kills one square and can continue his death blow if able. It is completely incapable of movement and can only attack creatures that wander to close to its roots. The plant can still pin warriors since its vines cling to the warriors. During the Monsters Phase the plant gets to attack each creature that is adjacent to one of its squares.
Please refer to the image for the following example. The squares with the green dots are occupied by the plant. W is a wizard and B is a barbarian. The barbarian will be attacked by the plant 5 times and the wizard will be attacked once. The plant square marked with a 1 can attack both the wizard and barbarian without penalty. A plant square that is surrounded by warriors on all sides could attack all 8 of them during its phase. The warriors will not receive a treasure card until every piece of the plant has been destroyed. When placing the plant on the board it should cover 50% of the squares in the room rounded up and all the of the squares should be touching. In a GMed game the GM will decide where to place the plant and they do not all have to touch representing multiple plants. The warriors should receive only one treasure card per room of plants regardless of the actual number. GM note: this is a good place to hide a key or other mission essential piece of treasure. Force the warriros to battle through the plant by placing it in front of the magical portal or around a magical fountain.
