Pucon
You know you are in Pucon in the summer when you can't decide whether to hike, bike, kayak, swim, windsurf, climb Villarica, go fishing, or just lie on the beach. It seems that our schedule differs substantially from the typical Chilean on holiday in Pucon. Our schedule: wake up at 7, breakfast at 8, Spanish lessons 9-noon; Chilean schedule: wake up at noon. Our schedule: run errands and make plans noon-2, lunch at 2, work at Hogar de Ancianos 3-5; Chilean schedule: lounge around and have lunch at 5. A brief intersection of schedules occurs 5-9 on the beach. Our schedule: light dinner at 9 and in bed by 11; Chilean schedule: dinner 10-11, wash up, hit the discos at midnight and party until 6am.
Mandy arrived as scheduled on Sunday, Jan. 20 with all of her gear, and my gear and I dribbled in throughout the week: first my bike arrived with Mandy, then me and my bags on Thursday the 24th, a new VISA card on the 26th, and a new Passport on the 28th. So now all is well and I once again have money, an identity, places to go and things to do.
Once again I have too many photos to fit onto one page, so click:
