My name is Kathy Mroczko and here are my creations for various fashion dolls. I prefer to work on Barbie size dolls, but do occaisonally work on Gene size dolls. Most outfits are completely removeable and lined. Many dolls have elaborate jewelry and handmade shoes. All dolls come with a custom stand, and a signed certificate. Maggie Dugan Saw this outfit in the pilot episode of the Peter Gunn show, and thought she must be made into a doll! It was lots of fun to try and recreate all the little details. Click Here for a close up of the face.
Road to Bali A fun doll for a pink and black swap. Happened to see the movie just before sigining up for the swap. Click Here for a close up of the face.
Stephanie Plum I am huge fan of the Janet Evonovich books, as is my best Barbie buddy, so this doll was a Christmas present for her. Click Here for a close up of the face. Click Here for a pic of the Ranger doll I did the year before for her.
Oceanna A mermaid done in a fit of insanity. All the sequins are hand sewn onto the rubber tail making the doll still flexible. Steffie face adds to the charm. Click Here for a close up of the face.
Pansy Perfection Another doll inspired by the fabric. Loved the outrageous purple and orange plaid. The color reminded me of the Jolly Joker pansy that I grow in my garden. Click Here for a close up of the face.
Copper Midge The best things happen by serindipity. This lady was just a quick repaint that came out so pretty I decided to go ahead and make the outfit for her as well. It all just came together. Click Here for a close up of the face. This doll is available. Just contact me.
Phoebe This dolls was a gift for my Mother in Law who loves brides. Not my favorite thing to do, but I was pleased with the results. Click Here for a close up of the face.
The Ambassador This doll was totally inspiried by the vintage camel print. Outfit is lined and completely removeable. Doll has had hair reflocked as well. Click Here for a close up of the face.
Chandra This is my first try at working with the metal mesh. It was fun and I hope to do more. Click Here for a close up of the face. Chandra lives with me.
Black and Tan Fantasy This doll was created for the 2002 National Barbie Convention charity auction. My second attempt at the metal mesh thing. Click Here for face shot.
How to Grill Your Man's Favorites This little bit of silliness was done for a daywear contest. Click Here for a close up of the face. She has gone to live with Tess.
Silk n Brocade This doll was done in a hurry for the 2002 Custom Dolls Convention charity auction. She was purchased by Tess. Her outfit was made with a wonderful vintage brocade fabric that was scavenged from a vintage coat.
Martina Done for the Cocktail contest on the Customdolls list. She is, of course a Martini! Doll has been swapped, and lives with Heather. Click Here for a face shot.
Starlight Melody A swap for Rebecca using a Steffie face, of course! Click Here for a face closeup.
Pink Magic I wanted to do a swirl for a friend, but didn't have a reproduction doll, so I did it on a Mackie face doll. I loved the results. Click Here for a large face closeup.
Rebecca A quick Steffie doll named after our wonderful leader on the Customdolls list. Closeup Here. Sold Thankyou!
"Suess"ette I had been reading "One Fish Two fish" way too many times to my 2 year old! She was fun though. Click Here for a closeup.
Splendor Again Here is my version of the vintage Evening Splendor. I added fur to the brocade and more elaborate jewelry. Click Here for the face.
Lunch in the City This is my swap with Anita. We did a city seasons thing. The pattern is a copy of an actual 60s human size dress.
Lady Illeana This was done for a swap with Kathy. The original idea was to see what a future society might make of a historic fashion. Lines were borrowed from several eras. Click Here for a close up of the face.
Sarah from Labyrinth A Halloween swap doll. This one for 1999. This is Sarah in the masked ball scene from the Hensen movie Labyrinth. It was quite a challenge to redo so elaborate a gown on a small scale. Leaving out details as needed, but still getting the essence of the dress.
Red Widow This doll is now in the collection of Michelle James and was made for the Halloween swap of 2000. The doll was originally a Hollywood Nails blond. Her hair was dyed and she was given a complete face paint and outfit makeover. The dress is red stretch velvet with hand beading. She even had spiderwebs painted on her shoes. Click here for a closeup of the face.
Arianna This and the next one were quick little just for fun things. I had never worked with the Kelly size dolls before. This one is in my personal collection.
Ariadne Sold. Thank you.
A Toast to the New Millenium My first AA creation. Don't know why I waited so long, as I really enjoyed doing her. Also, my first micro braid doll. Sorry the main immage is so big, but that fabric was a bear to get a good picture of. Click here for a closeup of her face. She was a swap, and is in Mels collection now.
La Mariposa de Or The Golden Butterfly. This doll was done for Karen as swap, and she requested something that came out as a close sister of the Toast doll. Still hard to get pics, but click Here for a face close up.
Vintage Recreations Here is a quick look at some recent explorations into recreating vintage style clothes. The outfits are all made with wonderful vintage fabric, that I seem to collect by the box full. Most of these styles are available for a custom order. Click Here for a few more styles.
I will do custom work on request and love to do swaps, but keep in mind I work very slowly. Takes me about a month to complete a doll, as I am very busy with my Real Estate career and my seven year old. Feel free to e-mail me with questions or requests. mroczko@verinet.com
