About P.E.D.A.L.

P.E.D.A.L. is the bicycling club in Loveland, Colorado. Although it is now largely a social group, P.E.D.A.L. began as a bicycling advocacy group in 1970. It began, in fact, on the first Earth Day. PEDAL is still involved in bicycle advocacy, providing expertise to the Northern Front Range Transportation and Air Quality Program Council (NFRT & AQPC), the City of Loveland, Smart Trips, and other governmental agencies interested in promoting alternate transportation.

P.E.D.A.L. members have been instrumental in creating and organizing Bike Week in Northern Colorado, have helped plan the Loveland Recreational Trail System, and have consulted with the City on several projects. P.E.D.A.L. has been involved with numerous educational projects from Earth Day to the Youth Environmental Summit.

P.E.D.A.L. represents the interests of cyclists to governments and helps represent the interest of cyclists in many matters. We have rallied around our members when we think they have been teated badly or needed help. P.E.D.A.L. also provides social opportunities for cyclists to get acquainted through the activity cyclists like most: organized rides.

P.E.D.A.L. organizes rides to suit a wide range of interests and abilities. The length of our rides range from 2 miles to 200 miles. We organize both road-bike rides and mountain-bike rides. PEDAL rides comprise rides anybody can do, but also include rides only a well-conditioned, dedicated cyclist should attempt.

Whatever the abilities and interests of its members, P.E.D.A.L. offers a way for cyclists of many stripes - recreational, commuter, casual or serious - to get acquainted and share interests.
