I bike, you bike, we all bike --
right?
Well, it would seem so. Cycling is the third most popular recreational activity
in the United States. Only walking and swimming can claim more participants. At
last count more than six million (6,000,000) persons in the United States bike
to work at least once a month.
Given the huge numbers of cyclists and the popularity of bicycling, it's no
wonder that more and more people are fighting for the rights and safety of
cyclists ... and there's no wonder why their voices are being heard by
politicians eager to enact the public will and retain their political seats.
Below is a chart describing the demographics of bicyclists who ride more than
six times a year.
