FROGMEN

"-By Such Men as These"

In tribute to all the men of the underwater demolition teams of the U. S. Navy, one might well repeat what a Navy commanding officer said after their work during the Leyte Operation in World War II. This officer had spoken of their great work in this undertaking, and closed his praise with the words: "When one watches them perform under the gunfire of the enemy, one cannot fail to be impressed with their boundless courage. The nation's future is safe when it is defended by such men as these." High praise indeed, but not too high for the men in the rubber suits and the flippers - the rugged members of the UDT - the Frogmen of our great Navy.
