The above images represent the Anasazi method of marking the Summer Solstice. On June 21 the above sequence of events occurs over a 20 minute period. The 4 images above were taken in 5 minute intervals as the arrowhead appears on the snakes head. This site is a large ceremonial area on the Colorado Plateau.
