My Muscongus Bay Lobster Smack Model Boat

This is a wood model boat for display, half inch scale. The boat is about 15" from end to end and is about 15" high (without its stand or case).
It's from a kit by Midwest. I changed some things, like I'm sure any modeler does. The most noticeable changes: I made sewn sails not the varnished ones; I used kite string for the thicker riggings; stained most of the wood (instead of painting); added oars and two (store-bought) cats.
I also designed and made the elliptical display case (shown at the end) out of acetate sheets, cardboard, and paper.
In the mid-1800s, these boats were used for catching live lobsters and fish. This type of boat was a forerunner of the friendship sloop.
