I am learning photography mostly from books. I have got a quite large collection of photography books at home and I am also checking out a lot of books from libraries. Checking my bookshelves gives me occassion for a reflection how my interest in photography has been evolved over years from outdoor and nature photography to fine art photography and to alternative and historical processes. In summer 1997, I started to write a list of my favorite books and author/photographers beginning from the newest additions to my home library. Wherever possible photographer's named were linked to related web sites. With time this list evolved to the LightScapes Bookstore ran in association with amazon.com. Most of my favorite photography books can be ordered directly from them just by clicking a title. Unfortunately, some of these books may be out of print and a few, e.g., beautiful books by nestor of Polish photographers, Edward Hartwig, are not available in US.
