Although I love to travel, the midwest has a special place in my heart. Most of my "growing up" years were spent on a farm in North-central Iowa. I think these images evoke a certain feeling of nostalgia. | |

Abandoned Most certainly, there are no shortage of abandoned farm buildings in the midwest. They never fail to intrigue me, to call out as if to say, "tell my story!". If only they could speak, there might be lessons to be learned. Only our imaginations can recall the joy, the laughter, the heartache they have seen. |

Heritage House And then there are those privileged few who have the distinction of being called "historical landmarks". They too have a story to tell, although I doubt it would be as interesting! |

Artists Statement: My mother often tells me of a time when I was about 2
years old and I drew a picture of a duck....and it looked like one!
Since early childhood, my creativity has been a big part of who I am. I
was very shy as a child, but I always felt comfortable expressing myself
through my artwork.
During most of my adulthood, my creativity has been
somewhat suppressed, but in the past couple of years there has been no
holding it back! My brother, who is a professional photographer, first
showed me the SX-70 manipulation technique in passing one day. But I
grabbed hold of it with both hands and refuse to let go! I find the
technique very theraputic, as well as instantly gratifying! Everyone has
a bit of creativity in their soul...may I encourage you to express
yourself through that creativity and nourish your soul as I have....
