Arapaho Bend Natural Area - October Paddling in Northern Colorado

Wenonah canoe October in Fort Collins, CO

Cold, windy, first snow at Foothills. Weather is pretty bad in Colorado today, so I decided to look at some pictures from my October paddling. All pictures are from my local Beaver Pond east of Fort Collins where I often paddle in late afternoon. There were shot with Pentax Optio WP from the board of my tippy Sisson Nucleus kayak.

I really like the first shot. The scene was quite ordinary but there was something magical in the light. The next day the light was quite different. However, not very often, I have a chance to photograph another paddler on "my" lake. That time I met Rob Bean who was training in his Wenonah J-201 canoe. He has already entered my virtual race on both distances. Rob looked a little bit weird with that long whitewater paddle. On a later occasion he tried one of my Zaveral paddles and I suspect that he may like it ...
