Sandisk Ultra II Secure Digital Memory Card with USB Port for Pentax Optio WPi and other Digital Cameras

I have been working in France (Gif-sur-Yvette southwest from Paris) for the last few weeks. No paddling, but I am shooting with my Pentax Optio WP whenever I can, mostly during weekends. Of course, I am always checking local rivers and streams.

Unfortunately, I've forgot to take with me a USB cable for my camera and I don't have a card reader. My 1 Gb SD memory card still has room for more pictures, but I cannot upload pictures from the camera to my laptop and post them in my blogs.

A good solution in this situation would be to have a very special and extremely handy Secure Digital memory card; the SanDisk Ultra II Plus. The design of the card is similar to that of the SD standard memory card; on top the card features an additional function. Having removed the card from the Pentax Optio WP digital camera, you can bend it in the middle after which a USB interface is freed. Enabling you to insert the card directly from you camera in a free USB port of a notebook or computer without the need for a connection to the camera or a card reader.

Product description: SanDisk's Ultra II is the high-performance digital memory solution for the serious photographers. This family of outstanding flash cards provides the durability and high-speed quality needed for advanced amateur photographers and photo enthusiasts. SanDisk's newest addition to this family is the innovative Ultra II SD Plus. The ground-breaking card provides the unique capability of utilizing your SD card in a USB port, eliminating the need for any readers to offload content to a PC. This card transforms from an SD card to a USB adapter with our unique hinged cover. The superior value for providing two products in one makes this the most unique SD card in the market.

The Ultra II works with USB high-power port hubs (500mA). It is SD compliant and has an outstanding write/read performance: 9 MB/sec, 10 MB/sec.
