Paddling with Pentax Optio WP

paddling Sisson Nucleus
I am still experimenting with my new Pentax Optio WP while paddling Sisson kayak or Spencer Xtreme canoe in training for Texas Water Safari. Since I am missing the exposure lock feature available in my Canon cameras, I use EV compensation. It is possible to assign different camera functions (settings) to the "green button". Right now, exposure compensation in my Pentax is at the first position available by one click to the green button.

The picture was shot in a small cove of the Beaver Pond from the board of tippy Sisson kayak. I was lucky to get some sunset light during otherwise cloudy and stormy day. I used EV compensation in attempt to not overexposure the bright part of the sky. A muskrat was swimming just a few feet from me but it was too fast to get sharp picture. I carried the camera in a small pouch attached to my life jacket. I found it more comfortable during more vigorous paddling than carrying the camera on my neck.
