Flying over Greenland

Greenland Greenland Greenland

When flying back from France I was lucky to see a southern tip of Greenland. It was just a short opening in clouds. I had my Pentax Optio WP ready for a snapshot (click thumbnail for a larger image). I shot more pictures, mostly pictures of clouds, during my flight from Paris to Chicago. It was also a nice sunset when was flying further west to Denver, but I was too tired to reach for the camera at that time.

It may be somewhat silly to shoot pictures from a plane when you have much better earth images ans other products like Google Earth maps available on-line, but I am still quite exciting to see and photograph something I can recognize down below. I can see my local paddling waters when flying to Denver from west, but usually it is during landing and I am not allowed to use a camera. However, in December of 2004 I was able to shot Horsetooth Reservoir, Boyd Lake and South Platte River when approaching Denver.
