Thinking about Paddling in France: The Seine River in Paris

I spent almost four weeks in France working near Paris from the middle of January to the middle of February. Leaving for 16 years in dry Colorado I suffer from paddling water obsession. Wherever I see a river or even a stream I am evaluating possibility of paddling.

I didn't have a chance to paddle in France, but, of course, I was thinking about paddling. Well, I was doing some paddling workout with my thera-band which is a simple but great exercise device for any travel.

I will be presenting a series of snapshots of different rivers I saw in France. I had only my Pentax Optio WP with me and the weather and light was not always cooperating during a few occasions when I could escape from work.

This post starts from the pictures of the Seine River near Notre Dame Cathedral shot during a short trip to Paris on January 28th. It was a gray, cold and windy afternoon with some drizzle. The river was not really inviting for paddling. For a balance I am enclosing more colorful pictures from a street market.

Of course, you can find a lot of beautiful photographs of the Seine on-line. The river was also pictured in many famous paintings. Here are some facts about the Seine River from Wikipedia.
