Ninety-five members of the Silver Hawk's operating crew complement are considered technical support crew. They are led by the head engineer, Lieutenant Commander K'ar Tesh, who is better known by his nickname "Speckle". K'ar is responsible for keeping the hyperdrives, maneuvering thrusters and ion drives in working order. His engineering teams are capable of repairing any system on the ship, and will execute any damage control orders issued by Commander Tessadron. The engineering teams are augmented by six Astromech droids equipped with capital ship repair programming and heavy duty tools. These R2 units also store redundant navigation coordinates for a variety of New Republic and Imperial systems and other key locations, and can operate both the main and backup hyperdrives in emergencies.

The operating team is the non-engineering component of the technical crew. Led by Master Shipman Ywil, this thirty-five member team includes many of the Silver Hawk's most experienced spacers. Together, these seasoned shipmates form the backbone of activity that keeps the Silver Hawk running. The operating team is designated as the starship's skeleton crew.
